Ranked Battle Season SM-USUM: Rating Battle Season 16

The new rules for the upcoming Rating Battle (Season 16) have been revealed. Rating Battle Season 16 began on June 18, 2019.
Rating Battles are available in Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, but note that Pokémon Sun / Pokémon Moon battles and Pokémon Ultra Sun / Pokémon Ultra Moon battles will be ranked separately.

Rating Battle Season 16:
Format: Single
Special Format Rules & Pokémon Restrictions: this format prohibits all Pokémon ranked 1 through 30 at the end of Seasons 7 through 14 in both the Pokémon Ultra Sun / Pokémon Ultra Moon League and the Pokémon Sun / Pokémon Moon League in Single Battle format.
Pokémon ranked in the top 30 of Season 15 in the Pokémon Ultra Sun / Pokémon Ultra Moon League and the Pokémon Sun / Pokémon Moon League as of May 28, 2019, may also not be used.
That means Venusaur, Charizard, Slowbro, Cloyster, Gengar, Kangaskhan, Gyarados, Snorlax, Zapdos, Dragonite, Azumarill, Scizor, Skarmory, Porygon2, Tyranitar, Blaziken, Breloom, Mawile, Salamence, Metagross, Garchomp, Lucario, Hippowdon, Gliscor, Mamoswine, Rotom, Heatran, Serperior, Excadrill, Ferrothorn, Hydreigon, Volcarona, Thundurus, Landorus, Greninja, Aegislash, Toxapex, Mimikyu, Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, Tapu Fini, Celesteela, Kartana, and Naganadel aren’t allowed on the field.
As usual, Mythical Pokémon, Ash-Greninja, and the most powerful Legendary Pokémon are prohibited.

This Rating Battle Season is number 16, and you’ll have the opportunity to test your skills against players from around the world! Challenge other Trainers to climb the leaderboards and find out where you rank against global competition. The Rating Battle leaderboards reset at the beginning of each season, so you’ll start Season 16 at the same level as everyone else. As you battle, you’ll move up or down the rankings based on your match outcomes. Rating Battle Season 16 began on June 18, 2019, at 0:00 UTC, after maintenance.

This season’s Special format features Single Battles and prohibits all Pokémon ranked 1 through 30 at the end of Seasons 7 through 14 in both the Pokémon Ultra Sun / Pokémon Ultra Moon League and the Pokémon Sun / Pokémon Moon League in Single Battle format. Pokémon ranked in the top 30 of Season 15 in the Pokémon Ultra Sun / Pokémon Ultra Moon League and the Pokémon Sun / Pokémon Moon League as of May 28, 2019, may also not be used. Rating Battles are available in Pokémon Ultra Sun, Pokémon Ultra Moon, Pokémon Sun, and Pokémon Moon, but please note that Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon battles will be ranked separately from Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon battles. Also, Pokémon and moves introduced in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon may not be used in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon Rating Battles.

Remember that you’ll need a Pokémon Trainer Club account and your own Pokémon Ultra Sun, Pokémon Ultra Moon, Pokémon Sun, or Pokémon Moon game registered at the Pokémon Global Link to participate.
