The new Pokémon game for Nintendo Switch have finally been announced.
Pokémon Let's Go! Pikachu and Pokémon Let's Go! Eevee will release on November 16, 2018.
NOTE: players can look forward to even more with an all-new core series Pokémon RPG title in development for the second half of 2019.

Both games are set in the original Kanto region (they are a remake of Pokémon Yellow) and feature co-op locally play as well as a new device called the Poké Ball Plus. This new device lets you take your Pokémon around with you and catch Pokémon in the game.
You can also send your Pokémon from Pokémon GO to Pokémon GO Park to get them in Pokémon Let's GO Pikachu & Eevee.
The games can be played with just one Joy-Con and capture is done by flicking the Joy-Con like Pokémon GO.
It is confirmed that there are no actual battles with wild Pokémon in Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee.
The game will have just the original 151 Pokémon and some Alolan Pokémon.
A brand new Pokémon is to feature in the game.
The games will have online play.
There will be some differences in the species of Pokémon that you encounter and the rate at which you encounter them based on whether you choose the Pikachu version or the Eevee version.

Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!
Return to the Kanto region and experience a classic Pokémon journey in a whole new way with Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! These two titles were created by GAME FREAK, the developers of the Pokémon core RPG titles. Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! introduce a new play style that anyone can enjoy, combined with the fun of collecting Pokémon.

Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! are based on Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition, which first launched in Japan in 1998. These updated versions have been reimagined to make the most of the unique capabilities of the Nintendo Switch. The games also capture the fun of Pokémon GO and its intuitive Pokémon-catching mechanic.

Befriend Your Partner
At the start of your tale, you will encounter either Pikachu or Eevee, depending on which game version you choose. This Pikachu or Eevee will join you as your partner in your adventures, growing together with you on your journey.

Pikachu or Eevee will be with you wherever you go, either hanging on your shoulder or riding on your head. Don’t let their adorable expressions fool you into thinking that cuteness is all they offer, though. Your partner will be a dependable ally in battle, too.

In addition to determining your first partner Pokémon, there will be some differences in the species of Pokémon that you encounter and the rate at which you encounter them based on whether you choose Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!

Catching Made Easy
The games utilize the abilities of the Nintendo Switch to add new and more accessible ways to experience Pokémon and play in the Pokémon universe. Even those who have never played the Pokémon series before will be able to dive right in—Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! are easily approachable for newcomers to the series, but also have enough depth to keep veteran Trainers on their toes.

The practice of catching Pokémon has been changed dramatically from previous titles. Now you can use your Nintendo Switch’s Joy-Con to toss a Poké Ball at your target with one hand, either by pressing a button or flicking your wrist. With fewer buttons and intuitive action, it’s never been simpler.

Play Pokémon Together
Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! also feature two-player simultaneous play. By sharing one of the Joy-Con controllers with a partner, two players can adventure at the same time. Throw Poké Balls together when you encounter Pokémon to boost your chances of successfully catching them, or have a friend lend a hand by joining you in battles against Trainers in your game.

Poké Ball Plus
To really capture the Pokémon spirit of these titles, the new Poké Ball Plus accessory allows you to interact with the games like never before. The Poké Ball-shaped device can be used to play Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! in place of your Joy-Con. In addition to motion controls, the device lights up with a variety of colors, vibrates, and plays sounds. When you try to catch a Pokémon, you’ll feel it moving inside its Poké Ball, and if your catch is successful, you’ll even hear the cry of the Pokémon you just caught. As a controller, the Poké Ball Plus will bring a new level of fun and immersion to these games.

poke-ball-plus.jpg

But the Poké Ball Plus does more than just function as a controller. Take one of your favorite Pokémon from these games for a stroll in your Poké Ball Plus, and you can bring it with you as you go about your daily life in the real world. You can spend time with your Pokémon even when you’re not playing Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!—and you’ll be rewarded in various ways when you return them to your game.

Plus, the Poké Ball Plus works as a Pokémon GO Plus. That’s a lot of pluses for one little Poké Ball!

Pokémon GO Connection
poke-ball-plus-info-graphic.jpg

There is a deep connection between Pokémon GO and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! For one thing, Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region that you have caught in Pokémon GO can be brought into these two new Nintendo Switch games. That’s not all, though. Look forward to more details at a later date.

Whether you’re a longtime fan or you’re taking your first steps into the world of Pokémon, Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!, Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!, and the Poké Ball Plus provide a captivating way to experience the adventure.

Visit the Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon Let’s Go, Eevee! official site for more details.

Some other news:
  • There are other gameplay ideas that have yet to be announced regarding how the games will connect. Those who play both will be rewarded.
  • Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu and Pokemon Let’s Go, Eevee are viewed as the next step for players brought in by Pokemon GO to continue with the series, which is why the catching interface / models are the same.
  • No online play. You will still be able to trade and battle, but will need multiple Switch units for that. You can also have multiple accounts on the same console, however.
  • Nintendo engineers helped create the Poke Ball Plus. The idea was to create the closest thing to an actual Poke Ball that really felt like it has a Pokemon inside.
  • You will not be able to evolve your partner Pokemon, but you can catch a wild Pikachu or Eevee and evolve them.
  • Your partner Pokemon will take up one of your six party slots, and you will be able to box it. Boxes work differently in that you now have a box in your bag.
  • The ability to transfer from Pokemon GO to Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu and Pokemon Let’s Go, Eevee opens up about halfway through the game. After that, you’ll be able to do it freely. There are also mini-games you can play when transferring over many Pokemon.
  • Candy from Pokemon GO will not not have any effect in Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu and Pokemon Let’s Go, Eevee. Masuda was not able to say whether you will be able to transfer Pokemon from the Switch games and turn them into candy.
  • Players will automatically ride any Pokemon that is large enough.
  • There will not be HMs.
  • You will earn EXP from catching Pokemon and trainer battles.
  • Event Pokemon from Pokemon GO (like Pikachu with the hat) cannot be transferred to Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu and Pokemon Let’s Go, Eevee.
  • The controls for catching Pokemon in handheld mode will have you moving the console around and pressing a button to throw. There are no touch screen controls, and using the gyro functionality is required.
  • Information was shared about Z-Mode or Mega Evolutions appearing in Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu and Pokemon Let’s Go, Eevee was not shared.
  • The map of Kanto will be very similar to the original landmass, but there will be graphical differences. You will not go to Johto.
  • Although there are some Alolan forms of Pokemon in Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu and Pokemon Let’s Go, Eevee, there are otherwise no connections between it and Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon.
  • All the usual differences when it comes to there being two versions of a Pokemon game will apply.

  • Gamefreak have targeted this towards newer / casual fans.
  • Gamefreak officially stated that core games will come in two supplements for the future, Games like this for the newer crowd and your typical Pokémon game for hardcore fans. The 2019 release is geared for hardcore fans. This is targeted to introduce new players into the franchise adopting some familiarity with the ever successful Pokémon Go.
  • The 2019 game won’t have casualisation because of this game.

  • Pokémon Attacks have the standard animations from the main core games as we see with hyper beam, Swift, seismic toss and the like. They do not function like Pokémon go. The animations are crisper and cleaner.
  • Wild Pokemon have levels that mirror the original wild Pokémon from Kanto, we see this with the mt moon clefairy being the same level as the original gen 1 games and the other overworld Pokémon matching the rest of the wild Pokémon of mt moon.
  • Wild Pokemon have both levels and Cp. The Cp likely is a modifier from transfer and for familiarity since the game is targeted for that audience in mind.
  • Wild Pokemon are caught like in go.
  • The accessory makes it easier to catch Pokémon
  • Standard core series items can be used in the wild before throwing a ball to increase or decrease capture.
  • Items can be used in battles.
  • Double Battles are back

  • Wild Pokemon appears in the overworld like standard JRPG games meaning you can catch what you want, no more spending hours trying to get that elusive Clefairy, meaning you can enjoy the action more.
  • The story mode features Team Rocket, they use some new Pokémon they didn’t use previously giving variety to their typical rosters
  • Mewtwo plays a part in the story unlike in the originals
  • The new device is an OPTIONAL seperate tool much the pokewalker. It’s not needed to play the game, but rewards you like the pokewalker allowing you to take your partner Pokémon for walks and getting rewards.
  • You can trade Pokémon between Pokémon Go and the Switch at will and mix and match at your desire
  • Transferred Pokémon go to a Pokémon pal park clone, exactly the same as gen 4.
  • All pokemon follow you like in HGSS
  • Pokémon Amie clone returns
  • You can dress up and stylise your pikachu and eevee as you want without restrictions
  • The story Pikachu and Eevee cannot evolve exactly like Pokémon Yellow. Others however can
  • The standard Pokédex Returns, no more rotom lol
  • As revealed by Gamefreak and Serebii, a brand new Pokémon is being offered for players as an exclusive.

I'm happy that Let's Go and the 2019 game are 2 different things.
And... the Poké Ball Plus will work with GO like a normal Pokémon GO Plus *__*

For the 2019 game, I want either a Sinnoh remake or a new region that it the complete opposite of Alola.
That would be awesome.
Not to mention that I want an Unova remake that includes like and an island that was found near Unova, based on South America, since people mention that Unova is only based of North America. RACIST TO ME.

In the Q&A they said that the game will be new like XY and SM were so the Sinnoh remake will have to wait a bit longer :yeahyeah:
With the 2019 game that you also mentioned, will these be an upgraded version of Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee!—similar to Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon—or something different?

Mr. Ishihara: They'll actually be different games as all-new Pokémon series entries, kind of like how Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, and then Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, were new games within the main series.
You can find the full Q&A here: https://pokemon-trainer.com/threads/q-a-from-the-pokemon-conference-may-30-2018.2505/

R.I.P Sinnoh remake :cry3:
My friends won't be so happy...
So, I guess brand new region?
Ok then, my opinion on brand new region, I say should be opposite of Alola. A cold and snowy region based on something like Canada.
Wouldn't a snowy region look pretty??? :wow: :wow: :wow:

So Let's Go is considered a Main Core Game and not Spin-Offs? Huh... Still not buying it though... Even if I had a Switch the fact we have to use the Go catching mechanic is a deal breaker along with not being able to battle Wild Pokemon.

No having the GTS & Battle Spot is another thing that makes not want to buy it, even though I don't really use either of those things anymore in Gen VII (mostly because the festival plaza was trash...) I used it like crazy back in Gen VI and I loved it! It really helped with PokeDex completion and making me a better battler.

As for what the 2019 game could be based on, we need to keep an eye out for Easter eggs in the next game and on their Twitter pages!

OK
1. You're listing to IGN? The ones who rated ORAS 7.8 because "the region has too much water"
2. I'm complaining about them getting rid of major things from the games. Pokémon battles were the main way to grind, now we have to be constantly buying PokéBalls and releasing Pokémon to be able and grind levels. Online Battles and Trades were the main features for the post game, and for a game that only has 151, leaves little to do after you beat the game. Last but not least I do not like the motion control Pokémon capture cause then I can't play the game everywhere, let's say for example on a plane where my arm movements are extremely limited I'm SOL cause I won't be able to wave my arm to catch anything.

3. I'm a child? That's the best insult you can come up with? I'm 21 buddy and am I solely expressing my opinions on why I'm not buying the game.

4. You are a Section Mod and Staff Memeber in this site. If it were up to me I would remove those rights cause your job is to remove comments which have insults among other things, not be giving them.

He said his opinion, you can agree with it or not but I don't see why you are writing that he is a child :uhmm:
Be respectful. There can be times when a discussion is really intense, you obviously can say yours but please respect others opinions. We are here to discuss so have respect of the other users. Be mature, respectful and don't be annoying.
That said, IGN can write what they want but people have their opinions and things that they like and don't like.
About me... I'm still not sure if I want this game or not... why?
1. I'm tired of Kanto
2. only 151 Pokémon to use is boring... I love having a LOT of Pokémon to choose
3. after I caught all the Pokémon there will be something to do? I'm really afraid of that... I know that there will be online trades/battles but... again, using only 151 will be boring... from those 151 only a few will be usable
4. no breeding... ok but the ones we will catch will be usable when we battle?
5. I want to know MORE about the game... I want to know if there will be something that make me think "Ok, now I really want it!"
They said a lot of times that the game is for new fans, casual players and GO players... so someone that played a lot of core game is a little skeptical about the game, maybe it will be fun but for now there isn't much informations.
And again, everyone has his/her opinion about something and only because a famous website says "it's the best game! Buy it" it's only their opinion, we as a players have our own opinions. Maybe they write that a game is the best of the best but you can dislake it because you don't like that gameplay or the story.

Last but not least I do not like the motion control Pokémon capture cause then I can't play the game everywhere, let's say for example on a plane where my arm movements are extremely limited I'm SOL cause I won't be able to wave my arm to catch anything.
I think that they explained that you can use the gyro functionality when you use the handled mode... so somehow you are able to play it :yeahyeah:
The controls for catching Pokemon in handheld mode will have you moving the console around and pressing a button to throw. There are no touch screen controls, and using the gyro functionality is required.
