SM Should Pokémon Sun and Moon have realistic graphics?

Hello trainers!

For the very first time I'm starting a thread here. So, a couple of minutes ago I've read an article on Kotaku, which was talking about how Pokkén Tournament will have realistic graphics, a kind "How the Pokémon should look if they were real?".

After read it, I started to thinking if the Pokémon Company will apply this "graphical concept" to the other games of the series, like the upcoming Sun and Moon?

So I'd like to read your opinion about it!

Personally, I can't tell what graphical style I prefer. I mean, Pokkén looks really cool, but I also like "cartooned" graphics, because Pokémon is magical, and also sometimes the reality is boring.

Personally, I can't tell what graphical style I prefer. I mean, Pokkén looks really cool, but I also like "cartooned" graphics, because Pokémon is magical, and also sometimes the reality is boring.

I agree for the graphic of Pokkén but the graphics of the Wii U is much higher of the 3DS one... so if they want to do a more realistic game like Pokkén they have to release SM on Wii U (or NX)... since the game will be released on 3DS I think we will have an improved version of XY/ORAS (and they already showed us that it will be like those two games but with a better graphic)


Anyway, I hope for a future Pokémon game to be like Colosseum/XD but with the story of the core games

Partially, the concept is really cool, but I don't think they have able time to port he game to the 3DS (and, of course, the "limited" hardware of the 3DS would not help the developers to reach the realistic graphics that they want for Pokkén).

Yes and no since we are talking about Pokken Graphics and the 3DS...But anyways that could be a possibility depending on the sales, cause they could always go and do like in SSB4 or Hyrule Warriors, and they could also make it exclusive to the New 3DS which has higher hardware.

But personally I'd prefer if SM would stay similar to XY/ORAS, cause I like that graphic style for an RPG . Pokken does look awesome but I'd prefer if that style would either stay with Pokken if they decide to make a series out of it, or implement it to side games *cough Pokemon Snap 2 cough*...excuse me I had something in my...keyboard? ummm...

I agree with @Diehl because we are talking about the graphic of Pokémon Sun and Moon and @jebralta post wasn't really about the theme of the thread but he didn't break any rule so... let's continue and try to improve this discussion

I want something like Colosseum... ok, a better graphic but something like that... and the battles... like Revolution that will be awesome!!!

There is a possibility, a slim one, that Pokemon sun and moon could release on wii u AND 3ds. 3ds is a given but during the direct people noticed when they showed timeline of games that when sun and moon showed up they didn't have a game system with it unlike every other one showed. Once again a slimmer of hope

Sadly, there isn't any possibility for a Wii U release and they already told us about it on the official website:

Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon are coming out for systems in the Nintendo 3DS family in late 2016

Release Date: Late 2016
Genre: RPG
Platform: Nintendo 3DS
Players: TBD

and in the Direct if you watch the first teaser you will notice at the end of it "Coming Late 2016" and below it the logos of the New Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS and 2DS.

In addition to what May said GameFreak has never released the main Story game to a home console, and of the reasons for that is because of what the creators wanted to make, a game that would get people to go out interact (of course this has been dimmed down due to the PSS), make friends, and have fun.

On one hand it may be cool as Pokkén, but I also like this current cartonish style. Now on 3DS it may have performance issue... BTW will love to see Sun And Moon land on WiiU too!
