can someone clarify a thing for me? does the shiny charm affect sos battle chances? as in, does the chance from chain 70-255 become 1 in 512? I'm currently trying to get a shiny Cutiefly via sos chaining with the shiny charm, no luck so far. I've already chained up to 255 four times, meaning I encountered 744 Cutiefly when the chain was between 70 and 255.

The shiny charm for sure helps but you still need a lot of luck :yesyes2: :sisi2:
I found a quote from a reddit user that explained how the Shiny chance work with the SOS battle:
Shiny Chance
  • Chain length of 0 to 69: ???**
  • Chain length of 70 to 255*: Three extra rolls for a shiny spawn.
After a chain of 70 the game rolls the shiny chance an extra three times, meaning the normal chance of 1/4096 gets increased to 4/4096, effectively giving a chance of 1/1024.

With a shiny charm, this chance is originally 3/4096 (two extra rolls for shiny spawn), and so gets boosted to 6/4096 after a chain of 70, effectively giving about a 1/683 chance of a shiny until the chain counter rolls over to 0.

Take this section with a grain of salt, however, as there seems to be some doubt from the source as to whether these numbers are accurate. It's entirely possible that there is code somewhere that makes this chance much higher; we just don't know yet.

Side note: Assuming the Masuda method in this game is the same as in Gen VI, using it with a shiny charm yields a shiny chance of 8/4096 (five extra rolls from MM and two extra from charm), or a 1/512 chance per egg. Make of that what you will.

I believe it does, but I haven't had any luck with SOS Battles either sadly, so it's most likely just bad luck...
I don't have for now the lucky charm but I'll try for sure when I'll have one :yesyes2: :sisi2:

Thank you for the welcoming! So it's a 1 in 683 chance... I should have found one by now =/. I'm gonna rest up a little, maybe I'll try again later. It still seems much better to chain 683 Pokémon than to hatch 512 eggs.

Maybe it's simply bad luck :yesyes: sometimes when you search for something you don't find it and when you don't search you find it XD (it happened for me with the shiny Growlith XD )

Finally found one at around 1600! It has the ability I wanted (Shield Dust), but other than that everything is so bad lol. It has jolly nature which lowers Special Attack, and its perfect IVs are Attack, Defense, Special Defense and HP. Yes, no Special Attack. I'm happy to have found it, but I'm so sad too :nono:

Word of advice to anyone Shiny Hunting, Kadabra/Alakazam & Parasect!

1. Kadabra/Alakazam line have Synchronize ability, which makes it a 50% chance of getting a Pokemon the same nature as Kadabra/Alakazam, so get yourself Adamant, Brave, Modest, Timid, Jolly, Quiet, etc. (This line is also good HA Hunting due to it being able to learn Role Play)

2. Parasect is almost perfect, for starters it has (HA)Damp which prevents the use of Self-Destruct and Explosion. It can learn Spore, Spore has 100% accuracy and will put your opponent to sleep, it also has access to False Swipe, Leech Life, & Swords Dance.
Spore- Puts opponent to sleep, easier to capture, allow you to set up, switch, or prevent Pokemon like Mareanie from defeating the SOS Pokemon.
False Swipe- Keeps opponent at 1 HP, increasing chances of opponent calling for help, easier to capture your target.
Leech Life- Use to heal after taking damage & to defeat Pokemon
Swords Dance- Increase your Attack so you 1 Hit KO opponents and conserve PP.
