Usually no... but some arcs are really short
like you said the remakes are really short but you will be surprised to know that Yellow isn't that short XD
The winner arc to have the shortest number of chapters is... HG/SS with 18 chapters (from ch. 442 to 460)!!

- Red & Blue (3 volumes - vol 1-3 | ch. 1-40 - 40 chapters)
- Yellow (4 volumes - vol. 4-7 | ch. 41-90 - 49 chapters)

- Diamond/Pearl/Platinum (11 volumes (in the Viz version) - vol. 30-40 | ch. 338-441 - 103 chapters)
- Heart Gold & Soul Silver (2 volumes - vol. 41-42 | ch. 442-456 - 14 chapters) -> remember, it's the Viz edition so I don't know how they made the count...)
- Black & White (9 volumes - vol. 43-51 | ch. 457-524 - 67 chapters)
- Black 2 & White 2 (2 volumes - vol. 52-53 | ch. 525-540 - 15 chapters) Still publishing (we are at ch. 17 in Japan)
- XY (12 volumes | ch. 1-39 - 39 chapters) -> in Japan they started publishing XY with a new numeration (there's 7 extra chapters published in the magazines that weren't collected in the volumes)
- Omega Ruby & Alpha sapphire (6 volumes | ch. 1-21 + episode 0 - 22 chapters) -> in the Japanese version there's only 3 volumes
- Sun & Moon (1 volume | ch. 1-7 - 7 chapters) -> Still publishing (we are at ch. 11 in Japan but for now they haven't announced the 2nd volume)
