SM Pokémon Sun and Moon Demo Discussion Thread

We now know that the Demo will be released on October 18, 2016 and we will use Greninja (Ash-Greninja) in it.
What do you think? Will you download it or not? Will you play it until Sun/Moon will be released or only for a little?
What do you want to see in it?

Maybe I should download it and test for a while... But in the end, I think even that I don't like the demo that much, I'll buy the game anyway.

I will definitely download it. I did it for ORAS and it had good benefits for the main game.
I'm really not that cared about Ash-greninja unless we can do that with our own Pokémon too. I just hope we'll get to see the final evolutions of the starters XD

We know when it will be released in Europe: the demo is to come in "late morning" and we can use Greninja and a level 40 Pikachu that has a Z Crystal attached.

I can't wait till tomorrow! Since I'm incapacitated for a while I won't be able to go to school, so I'll be home all day and ready to download! Already dusted out my 3DS! (I have literally only used it once a month for the events!)

I'll probably play the demo like crazy until Xenonverse 2 then all my time will be taken up by that! Until November 18th that is!

My demo experience haven't started that well... at first it asked me to create a Nintendo Network ID... ok... but it was long like hell (and all the names were taken...) after that I tryed to download the demo but my 2DS says that it's full

Mini events:

After playing through the demo and unlocking the Greninja, I have come across some notable event dates.

Guy standing outside pokemon center. "If you come see me tomorrow, I'll give you something good. Not today, not the day after tomorrow, It's gotta be tomorrow - got it?" Expected date October 19

Girl in the furthest left/back corner in town. "I'm meeting up with a guy who helped me out when I sprained my ankle the other day. I'm meeting him in - how many days was it? Oh yeah, 5! ...If you're here when he shows up, I'll show him off to you." Expected Date October 23

He didn't receive any reward for any of the events, and none of them revealed any new info besides meeting lilly(?) so there's probably something missing that forcing the events that way leaves out, I have to imagine you get some transferable reward for coming back to them

Police man on the marina "According to my informants, there's a shady deal going down right here in a matter of days -18, to be exact. I wonder if I'll be able to handle it by myself." Expected Date November 5

All the items you can get in the demo:

This is going to be a guide on how to get all the obtainable items in the demo to transfer to the main game, and I'll also cover what hints we have at time-based future events.

Just to clear it up ahead of time, this guide is only concerned with what you can get by actually playing the demo. Let me know if I missed anything.

So, starting with captain obvious:

Greninja, Lv37, Battle Bond ability: Complete the Ten Carat Hill Trial and defeat the Team Skull Admin.

Now, onto the juicy postgame stuff:

Nugget: Ride the Tauros and Charge through the boulders to the right of the entrance to Ten Carat Hill. Catch at least 3 Pokemon in the Pokemon Catching Challenge.

3 Stardust: From the PokeCenter in Hau'oli City, follow the road East and then southeast, and talk to the girl on the left side of the Slowpoke crossing barricade. She'll offer to take you to Mahalo Trail. Ride the Tauros up the hill, through all the rocks, and you'll meet the Mysterious Old Man who will give you 3 Stardust.

Star Piece: There are three new trainers who will challenge you on the path to Ten Carat Hill. You'll have to smash some rocks with Tauros to find one of them. Once you've beaten all 3, talk to the Ace Trainer on the left near the start of the area. She'll challenge you to a fight (you may want to detour to the Pokemon Centre first), and when you beat her, she'll give you the Star Piece for the main game.

Now for the time-based hints:

The guy right outside the Pokemon Centre will "give you something good" if you show up "tommorow" - presumably starting from when you beat the demo.

Sunhat girl on the Southwest corner of the city is meeting up with a guy who helped her, but she's 5 days early (read on the 18th of October). I suspect from the wording that this may be a fixed date.

Well, I finally played it just like twenty minutes, just until I finished the trial... What can I say?

- The graphics are nice.
- Mom is cute. xD
- Hau looks really excited about everything ~~(what a kid)~~, I think he is funny. xD
- First Pokémon I faced was an Pikipek (I must catch it when the full game came out)
- I liked the layout of the menus.
- The scenarios (I don't know if this is the best word to describe what I'm thinking...) look really large, and this is good (well, I guess).
- Team Skull grunts are really... bizarre. First, they don't stop moving like if they were in a hip-hop show, second, look like their eyes will blow out when they lose a battle. xD
- I liked that they used the console internal sensor to make the camera move.
- I enjoyed the musics.

- Hau: meh... not good but not bad...
- the layout menù is ok... but I don't like that much that the "fight" button is in the left... I continued to press the right button (bag) XD I think that if they added it in the middle it would be better :yeahyeah:

but that's my opinion
- sometimes the HP are really slow to go down...
- some lags when you see both Pokémon and both trainers....

they removed the 3DS but it still lags... :omg:

- about the camera... no... I can't like it... :facepalm:

why I can't move it with L or R?
Ok... now I have to say good things XDDD
- I want Rockruff!!! He is really cute!!
- the world seems interesting :yesyes:

a little more real than usual
- the movements of the NPCs are a little strange :suspect:

but overall good
- I like the new animation before the battle :yesyes:

- I like to see both trainers in the battle (the laaaaag!!! :rage2:

) but at the same time why the battle arena is that small? :uhmm:

An explosion can kill the trainer! roftl

- Ash-Greninja is really strong! I hope we can use it in the competitive!!
