We still don't know if there's a League in the game so how can we know if there's a League in Alola? 
With this my answer is no. They will hold a tournament or something like that
and who win will get a diploma from the Alola school.

He won the Orange League and the anime isn't boring
there's some series that aren't that good but I don't think this arc will be boring

The battle frontier don't have a league and it's one of the best season of the anime

Even that actually exists a league in Alola, I don't think they will be using it in the anime.
I think that with the school thing they are trying something new, and changing mind at this point to move back to the old formula... Doesn't look a good option.
I'm not sure if Sun & Moon will be amazing, but in the other hand, I don't think it will be a disaster.
