Well, I don't shiny hunt that much... I tryedo once in Ultra Sun to shiny hunt a Groudon but I haven't count the soft resets (and after sometime I simply got tired....)
Now I started to shiny hunt a Celebi in Crystal and at first I didn't care to count but after sometime I started XD now I'm at 20 (I'm a little sad that I haven't started from the beginning :cry3:)

I actually thought the odds of getting a Legendary shiny in the wormholes were much higher so I did the exact same thing with Groudon - counted till 50+ before giving up - turns out Legendaries in the wormholes still use the default odds that aren't increased (correct me if I'm wrong)

Probably involved normal Pokémon, legendaries don't change.

Like @lxMattAranxl wrote, the odds of getting a shiny Legendary don't change (well, with a shiny charm they change a little but not that much)
only normal Pokémon in the Ultra Wormholes change:
    - first you have a higher change to find a shiny the further you go (usually 3000+ and a rainbow ring have a lot of chance)
    - second, when you enter the Ultra Space Wild the shiny is already determined. So if you save before the enounter it will always stay shiny (so you can soft reset for a better nature) or it will never be shiny
