How did you discover Pokémon?

I don't remember how old I was but I was reading a magazine that talks about TV programs and there they talked about Pokémon and that they will start the show. I got interested in it and read the full article (I remember that there were Ash and Pikachu, probably even Articuno but I'm not sure) and started watching the first episode. After that I watched all the others episodes and started playing the games

Oh god. It's a LONG story, but here is the summarized version of it, and I might make the full version in the future:

My friend had a Ruby game and I came over to his house and watched him play. He then got bored of Pokemon and gave me the game to play, I loved it and I bought every Generation since, and even bought the Johto games.

Found out about it on the Big White Brick-Like Gameboy when I was younger. Got Red version and had a blast playing through it

Then I was completely ecstatic when I found out there was going to be a Sequel Series (Gold & Silver)

And as Usual, it became a natural tradition to buy the new Generation of Pokemon Games (Ruby/Sapphire, Diamond/Pearl, ect...)

I discovered Pokémon by the anime. Back in 1998/99 (can't remember exactly) I used to watch a brazilian TV kids show, which started to broadcast the "Indigo League" series.

It all started with an article when I was small I believe, then t.v. (first pokemon season), cards, then when Gold/Silver came out the games. The rest is history after that.
