I've gotten back into the series with a vengeance recently, and have already worked through most of the fanfics that meet my way-too-high standards. From what I've seen of the pokemon manga(specifically ruby, sapphire, and emerald) it tells an actual serious story with well developed characters. Is this the case, and if so is it worth reading?Akinatorhttps://xender.vip/ https://testmyspeed.onl/

If you are talking about Pokémon Special (Adventures) it's the best Pokémon manga you can find. Like you wrote, the story is more serious and follows the videogames. There won't be only one main character but every arc (RBY, GSC, etc) will have a male and female main character from the games (so in RSE you will have Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald for example)

I suggest you to start from the beginning since many arc are connected (like, a character from a previous arc can appear in a future arc) but you can start from the arc you like more to see if you like the series :yesyes2: :sisi2:

You could also read the story in chronological order, if you wanna have a bit of a different experience to most people who have been reading the story.
    Red/Green/Blue > Yellow > Gold/Silver/Crystal > Ruby/Sapphire > FireRed/LeafGreen > Emerald > HeartGold/Soulsilver=OmegaRuby/AlphaSapphire (take place around the same time) > Diamond/Pearl > Platinum > Black/White > Black 2/White 2 > X/Y > Sun/Moon/Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon

Also if you are able to find someway to read them, you could read the Pokémon Ranger stories that take place prior to Diamond/Pearl

But yeah, the manga is quite good, it is one of the only manga that I actually have physical copies of, so I hope that enjoy it, if you do decide to read through it.

Well, it's noa that difficult to find the Ranger stories online if in your country there isn't any official translation :yeahyeah:

Yes the Pokemon Special manga is definitely worth reading.
I totally feel the same about fanfics nowadays. I can't take them seriously enough even when they have the slightest bit of awkwardness and grammatical errors.
