Pokémon X and Y were announced during the Pokémon Direct January 8, 2013. Thanks to the streaming, the announcement was made worldwide. Players will be able to choose 1 of 7 languages to play the game (English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, or Korean)
The two new games introduce a new generation of Pokémon, the sixth, and will come out around the world in October 12,2013.

The innovations seem innumerable, starting from 3D graphics, the absence of sprites and animations of the battle even more detailed of the previous games.
Another big innovation is the introduction of the Fairy type and new ways of battle: the Sky Battle and the Horde Encounters.

A new feature introduced in Pokémon X/Y is the Mega Evolution. Unlike regular Evolution, Mega Evolution occurs only during battle. Once the battle ends, the Mega-Evolved Pokémon will return to its usual state.

Mega Evolution is not possible for all Pokémon. Only certain Pokémon, under certain conditions, can achieve Mega Evolution. One of those conditions is a special item called a Mega Stone. These special stones exist for every Pokémon that can Mega Evolve, and each is named for the Pokémon to which it grants power.
To use a Mega Stone, give it to your Pokémon to hold. Pokémon capable of Mega Evolution will gain access to their potential only if they first carry a Mega Stone into battle. Other things are needed for Mega Evolution to succeed.

Another item necessary for the Mega Evolution is the Mega Ring. When a Pokémon is holding its Mega Stone, the Mega Ring and Mega Stone resonate, triggering Mega Evolution.

Like previos Pokémon games, in XY you can find some exclusive Pokémon. To complete the Pokédex you have to trade.

Here are the main characters of Pokémon X/Y, Calem and Serena:
Player_male_XY.png
Player_female_XY.png

At the start of the game you can choose one from 3 different styles:
male.jpg
female.jpg

Later in the game you will be able to change the outfit (hat, shoes, and accessoriese) and the hair style of your character.
To do so you have to use the boutiques and the salon that appear in the game. There are boutiques in many of the cities you visit and each one has its own individual style.
When you change your outfit and your hair, your icon on the PSS and on the Pokémon Global Link will change, too.

Team Flare is the new evil team introduced in Pokémon X & Y.
The grunts seems to be only interested in money...
TeamFlare-Pokemon-X-and_Y.jpg

There will be even the Team Flare Top Scientists.
In those team we have: Celosia (the purple-haired woman), Aliana (the orange-haired woman), Bryony (the green-haired woman), Mable (the blue-haired woman) and Xerosic (the only man). They appear to have a clear goal in how to change the world.

The Fairy Type was announced for the first time during the E3 in June 11, 2013.
Fairy type is super effective against Dragon, Fighting and Dark and isn't effective against Fire, Poison and Steel. The Fairy type will be weak against Poison and Steel and resists against Fighting, Dark and Bug. It is immune to Dragon.

Sylveon is the first Fairy type Pokémon revealed.

Some old Pokémon will be reclassified as Fairy-type Pokémon:

The "Pokémon-amie" allows you to interact with Pokémon.
amie1.jpg
amie4.jpg

You will be able to:
- feed them
- scratch and play with them
- give them treats
using the touche screen.

The Pokémon-amie can be used any time.
Every Pokémon have a preferred way to be cared and when they become friendly they can perform better in battle.
