The official Pokkén Tournament website is now live and announced the release date of Pokkén Tournament for Wii U. The game will be released Worldwide on March 18, 2016.
The game will have:
- a single mode which has three different difficulty levels
- local battle: the player plays against another one in a local battle (this mode uses the Game Pad and the standard controller). This mode runs at 30fps instead of 60fps
- online battles: this mode have two different maches: Friendly Matches and Ranked Matches. The first one can be played against anyone and against your firends (you need to have them in your Friend List or those who have the Battle Code in your Friendly Match); in the second mode, the Ranked Matches, you collect points based on your success and compete to get an even higher rank.
Two new support Pokémon have been revealed: Croagunk & Sylveon and Pachirisu & Magikarp.

If you pre-order the game you will receive a Shadow Mewtwo amiibo card.
When the card is read using the Wii U GamePad, Shadow Mewtwo will be unlocked in Pokkén Tournament immediately as you begin playing. Normally, you would have to fulfill certain conditions to unlock Shadow Mewtwo.
