This will make your Secret Base something like a Pokémon Gym.Thanks to the communication feature, you will be able to share your Secret Base with others. There will be the QR code option and the Street Pass option. When you find an owner that you are friends with (or not) you will bebe able to add it as one of yours Secret Pal and bring it to your own Secret Base. When you become Secret Pals, you will be able to battle against them and obtain a special skill that will help you in your adventure.Another thing added is the capture the flag (remember the Flag Retrieval in Diamond/Pearl?), you will be able to take one flag per day from each base (is the one beside the PC). Obtaining lots of flags you will improve your team's rank, gets rewards and increase the skills of the Secret Pals.
