The film's title is a reference to Pokemon: The First Movie, which opened in Japan in 1998.

Well, the movie Genesect and the Legend Awakened was already a family-friendly thing... they explained in less than 1 minute how Mewtwo was born and everything was really soft same for Genesect...

I don't know, while I haven't watched the newest movie (Power of Everyone I think) the first movie (I Choose You) had some dark tones to it, and the dark tones is what made the First Movie so good! So hopefully they'll keep it! (I'm also wishing that the dub manages to get the original VA but that's very unlikely...)

So I was checking out some of MSB Evolution and honestly while it's beautifully animated and I feel like it expands a bit on Mewtwo's mentality in bit that I saw, a number of the scenes which had ominous more somewhat iconic moments from the original movie somewhat fell flat to me. I will say while the dub messed up with changing some of the core themes of the movie they did a fantastic job with the music at some moments, more specifically when Mewtwo was creating the storm.

For starters I personally feel like the original movie made it more sinister with only the hand being visible. Honestly that scene is also where I enjoy the dub orchestra more than the original Japanese which honestly felt more stereotypical haunted mansion. Another scene actually was Professor Fuji's death, the original it was way more ominous with how Fuji was injured on the floor staring at Mewtwo parting the flames and preparing to annihilated the lab. Compared to Fuji trying to run and Mewtwo being a mile away slowly blowing up the lab...

Finally watched the movie!
The Pokémon are really well made but I can't say the same for the human characters... sometimes they seems to don't have many emotions and to move like they are robots...
The battle Mew vs Mewtwo was great!

Yes, I agree about that she died but they can but this event also in the movie. I do love her and lo e how she was talking with mewtwo
